We start where you are today. There is no pre-defined state of who or how to be, but rather a willingness to invest yourself in this process of change. Sessions, generally lasting one hour, are a place for you to learn what your obstacles are, how to stop them and to uncover the unique qualities, which are already yours.
After the initial session, where we’ve established your aims, we’ll begin a process of bodywork, including touch, breath and movement. You’ll learn to shift your attention to your body, raise your level of energy and have a direct, physical experience, free of explanations, analysis or interpretation.
Basic lessons include:
- Letting go of muscle tension and excess effort
- Paying attention to different areas of the body
- Allowing physical flow and new sensations
- Quieting your mind
Working with a Reaction:
Once you are more physical and aware of your body experience, you will learn how to recognize when you react automatically, in your body, and how it is connected to what you wish to change. You’ll progressively discover more aspects of this reaction, including its triggers, the repeating body experience, emotions, thoughts and behaviors, and you’ll gain an ability to directly stop it, through what you’ve learned.
- Transforming chronic and emotional pain
- Using fear as an impetus to move and act
- Stopping old beliefs and conclusions
- Using personal history as a source of power
- Allowing your body to heal
Stopping a Reaction:
Stopping these damaging and automatic reactions is the main aim of any Grinberg Method process. Each time you stop, in sessions and in daily life, you’ll experience “new” and yet be reminded of your basic, innate qualities. You’ll gain a new perspective, have a healthier, more adaptable body and constantly discover simple and unexpected options, when approaching your specific life challenges. When you stop something old and repetitive, is when you will experience real and lasting change.
